Hogwarts and Technology

Hogwarts and technology.
In the 2000s, when technology in the Muggle world was advancing inexorably, the children of Muggles or Mudblood families I believe used these devices.
As we all know at Hogwarts, Muggle electronic devices do not work.
Do you all believe that over time and to meet the more pressing demands of students, McGranitt agreed to the use of such devices?
In my mind I think so, not least because teachers themselves might use such devices in their teaching.
I laugh (in my mind Severus survived the war) because Severus would be forced to participate in the whatsapp group with the teachers.
He would write the bare minimum using short sentences or monosyllables, in the best cases a few witty and sarcastic jokes.
The image of Severus strolling in his spare time through the corridors of Hogwarts or in his office with his smartphone is so attractive and amusing.
What would he see? ๐Ÿค” Definitely some sites/blogs where he discusses potions and research and when he would like to digress he would use it in his room to visit some interesting sites (but he would never admit it), in time he would become an expert in internet and technology and he could even use it for his lessons making them interactive.
Or to send corrected assignments to his students via instant messaging with some sarcastic comments.
Of course his favourite emoticons would be these: โ˜ ๏ธ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜–

Personally, I wouldn't want modern technology anywhere near Hogwarts. I dislike the idea of a magical society being that similar to ours, and the idea of them having smartphones in particular is legitimately awful to me. That might be because I hate smartphones and feel they've done more harm than good, but even without that, it just bothers me. Granted, I don't mind technology being used in more limited ways outside of Hogwarts (e.g. a younger Muggleborn choosing to have a TV or home PC), but that's about it.

Even beyond personal preference, I don't see any reason for it. Hogwarts got along just fine without incorporating Muggle technology throughout the 20th century up to and including the 90s, which was clearly an intentional choice. And while it's true that students with Muggle backgrounds would've grown up with the internet post 1995 (or certainly post 2000), it's the students who have to adapt to a new way of life when they go to Hogwarts, not vice versa.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with having a different opinion on this subject. If you enjoy the idea of Snape walking around with a smartphone, by all means, have at it! For me though, that would destroy the magic. Hogwarts (and the magical world in general) is a place where I like to escape from technology, which (as much as I love it) has replaced certain things I dearly miss.

In other words, I'd much rather see Snape writing a handwritten letter or reading a dusty old book than sending a text or following some random blog. It just feels less interesting (and less special) when it's stuff we do ourselves every day.

Given how dependent we all and especially the younger generation has become on technology, I highly doubt that the present muggleborn students would be able to move from smartphones to sending letters per owlpost and taking notes with quills instead of tablets and laptops. I expect them to turn down their Hogwarts acceptance unless the school makes the necessary accommodations.

I don't really see it happening but it would be fun to imagine the teachers and purebloods desperately trying to get hang of sending text messages and struggling with their phone's camera

Honestly, I would gladly give up my phone and technology in general in exchange for HP-type magic.

P.S. Baby Shark as the Cruciatus is gold

I missed the memo that the story overall happened years before it was published (with this I mean the second war happening on 1998 and such pffft) so I for some reason I though the story was contemporary to the publishing years lmao.

Since I'm both vintage and techy (and the headcanon my classmates that were fans of the books and I had that Mexico had to had both world conjoined because everyone had to survive the economic crisis somehow, to the point that magic currency and other things disappeared with time and I've been living with that headcanon despite dropping the fandom for almost 20 years it has ingrown hard) is not hard to me to imagine muggle technology at the English magic world... But very old, like they are just using 80's tech by now for example (Severus playing on an Amiga or an Atari. The man is intelligent and seeks for challenges and videogames could be good for him I feel)

(He would be fan of the Professor Layton, Ace attorney and Animal Crossing sagas) I said nothing :U
