In memory of Michael Gambon

Gambon died in the hospital early today at the age of 82, after suffering from pneumonia.

Over his life, he has been nominated and won multiple awards individually, and in ensemble for his work in film, television, and theater. Some of his most notable honors include Knighthood in 1998, BAFTAs in the early 2000s, Irish Film and Television Awards, and several Olivier Awards.

Beyond acting, Gambon enjoyed sports vehicles such that a portion of the Top Gear test track is named after him. He had three children.

My condolences to his family and friends. May he be immortalised as Albus Dumbledore, the man who almost drop kicked Harry when asking if he put his name in the Goblet of Fire.

Very sad news. We're losing a lot of great acting talent, and judging by today's standards, I don't think we're able to replace it. Condolences to his family and friends.
