Agreed. This might be an unpopular opinion, but Molly is kind of an asshole.
I'm thinking about Eileen at this moment. I feel so sorry for her. How much her bad life destroyed Severus. 😭 I don't think she abused him, Tobias was the ringleader of evil in this family. I imagine her as a sad and broken woman. I would like to hug her and little Severus. 😔
I once read a fanfic, but in Polish, where she was a portrait hidden in Severus' estate. Then Lily discovers him. Eileen is so different there, capable of feelings. This is how I imagine her.
Her character also shows how bad love can kill in life.
BTW in Poland Mother's Day is May 26. 😃

I love how snooty and one-dimensional she appeared at first, only to gain more and more facets as the story progressed.

With her simping over Lockhart, her treatment of Hermione after the Daily Prophet articles and of Fleur, and how she and her family dismissed her squib second cousin... yeah, she often rubbed me the wrong way as well.
(That said, at least she wasn't as big an a-hole to Percy as the rest of the Weasleys. -_-)
Also, where mothers are concerned, I've always felt really bad for Merope.
I consider using a love potion unacceptable, but prolonged abuse tends to twist one's personality.
She just wanted someone to love her, but in the end, not only did her husband leave her, her own son became much more fixated on him rather than sparing her a thought.
Constantly abused and shunned, she never had a chance.
The description of how her father treated her really sickened me.
Poor woman.
