I chose dragon heartstring, though I don't have any real reason for it. It just sounds more badass than the others. 😄

I went with unicorn hair due to its consistency in use. The only real downside is that they can get depressed.

Dragon heartstring because dragons are badass. That aside, wands from dragon heartstrings are powerful and have affinity for dark arts so it suits a Slytherin like me.

If allowed a very rare wand core material, then I choose Basilisk horn because a wand of that core was owned by Salazar Slytherin so it would be my second wand(a good wizard keeps a backup wand unless he manages to master wandless Accio Wand).
