Depends on the joke for me. People have different interpretations of the humour and I personally believe jokes should be fun and not hurtful to the other person.

I couldn't agree more, Krystal. I was rather notorious for April Fool's jokes on my previous sites, but they were never hurtful and always designed to make people laugh.

@mmlf, do you remember any of those? I think I still have screenshots somewhere...

April 1, 2013.

I was running a fansite for the BBC show Merlin. The show had ended a few months before, and we'd been discussing expanding the site to include other fandoms we were interested in. On the eve of April 1, I put together this little announcement… I also used word filters to replace all major character names with "Heather". It was hilarious, especially the fanfiction… we had a lot of hardcore shippers/smutty stories on that site, so you can imagine that looked like. 😂

Disclaimer: I'm not actually a narcissist. That's part of what made it so funny, because it was so out of character/unexpected.

Later, I'll share the atrocity that was April Fools' Day, 2014. I think that one was my favorite… lots of neon pink and sparkles involved. 😉

I wasn't there for the April 1, 2013 one, but I think I remember the pink monstrosity from 2014... *shudders*

EDIT: I love April Fool's jokes. The more convincing, the better.
