As for James… we all have distinct patterns in our writing style, even when we're impersonating someone else. In this case, both you and @naaga occasionally make a specific grammatical error that I've never seen with @thegestaltprince. James also made that error several times last night, so I knew it had to be one of you guys. 😉

Sometimes you include the word "the" where it isn't needed, such as before people's names. Last night, you referred to "the Snape" and "the Snivellus" which I corrected, but yeah… it was a definite tell. 😉

Personally it depends, but most of the time they make me smile. Always fun to see what interesting hijinks people come up with for April Fools. Sometimes it doesn't turn out great, but in most cases you can easily forgive it, they just wanted to have some fun. I didn't participate in these forums yesterday (was busy with other things) but it sounds like it was a fun and silly time.
I don't think I've personally been affected by an April Fools joke gone bad, but I've heard the occasional horror story about it.
