It assumes that Hogwarts and Harry Potter are for real. Basically, Rita Skeeter gets fired for being an unregistered animagus, and decides to out the Wizarding World as revenge. I like the idea that, considering Skeeter's reputation as an unreliable source, that the Harry Potter books are completely inaccurate aside from the name of the main character
Then, the Cursed Child can be considered non-canon. The HP books are unreliable narration and CS is a badly written fanfic(her original work) on the Harry Potter. 😹😹

Unfortunately, it is called canon by JKR, or um, Rita isn't it 😜, so pretty much non-canon for me.
