Hypocrisy and double standards are main flaws of Snaters. They are ready to make excuses for characters like Sirius and James saying that they were teens but they demonize Snape's behaviour both as a kid and teen Snape, refusing to accept same reason for his behaviour.
I once unironically heard that some Snaters hate his teen self because of the person he becomes later on, and (apparently) even go as far as victim-blaming him.
Yeah, that's also true. They say he deserved it because he turned out to be a Death Eater and even deserved SA for being a racist. For all they say about Snape being obsessed with Lily, ironically they are obsessed with hating a fictional character for wrong reasons.

Sadly it is too much for Snaters to step out of their comfort zone to try and understand the character of Severus.

Because in doing so, they'd need to humanise him, and we all know they will never do that.
Right, it is easy to see a character superficially and project their own teacher issues on him but it's difficult to try and understand how come he arrived at that point. Severus is the classic example of how someone can be completely failed by the society yet come out a better man than most in series.
No kidding! They should thank him that Hogwarts still exists (in-universe ofc) for Harry to even see in 1991.
Yeah, Light side couldn't have won if not for Severus. People talk about golden trio but it was Platinum trio i.e Severus, Dumbledore and Harry that defeated Voldemort.

I really don't get where the whole incel accusation comes from and I think some people are using that term without knowing the exact meaning? The just know it has negative connotations and throw it around.
I wouldn't necessarily call Snape a feminist but he was ahead of his time. The fact that he left Lily alone after that talk in front of the Gryffindor entrance is quite a green flag to me. He respected her wish despite not liking it. I believe he was wrong to give up in that certain situation as it was too soon for an apology but the fact that he accepted a "No" dorm a woman quite impressed me. James for example seems to always interpret Lily's no as an invitation to try harder but Snape accepted and respected her wish right away.
The only time he exhibits toxic behavior is when he tells her he won't "let" her do sth during the talk about the werewolf prank I think. Then there's him using a slur and that's actually it.

Off course, I see the reddit and quora and believe me snaters is having every argument against snape. He is stalker, he is evil child since meeting lily,he is bully to petunia since he is 9 years old. I mean,he trily antagonize by many HP fans in fandoms,that sometimes I realize "Dude,If pensieve show you the truth and you making your own truth,perhaps you need other books to read"
