Discussion: Who can play Snape?
He's very pretty, but not a match for Snape as far as background/ethnicity goes. He's also too soft looking, IMO… Snape is thin, bordering on gaunt, and has sharp features like thin lips and large, hooked nose.
Having said that, he'd still be better than Paapa Essiedu. lol
Who's the actor who played the young version of Snape in the films? Not when he was hung upside down, but the young young version of him when he's laying on the grass with Lily as a kid? Wouldn't he be about the right age now? Give him dark contacts/wig and I'm sure he'd be a good fit.

Ah okay, that's interesting 🙂 I can't remember about his ethnicity in the books/films, sorry. ^^; The noses here don't look very hooked.
He is actually very scary in Scholar Who Walks the Night XD
Nagini was Asian in Fantastic Beasts though, so he could have still been likely to be cast, or someone like him.
Alina was Asian in Shadow and Bone, and the storyline changed for her to be Shu.
I love Alan Rickman and saw him as Snape when I saw the movies, but that is all. I know I am in the small percent that would have loved to see Tim Roth play Snape. I think he would have done a great job and he was closer to the correct age as Snape. But he wanted to work with Tim Burton. I also don't worry about whether the actor I think would make a great Snape is age-appropriate at this time of the post, because I really don't think that a casting director is going to take my advise.
Someone who I thought would make a good Snape is John Lynch. He has the look without needing much makeup or contacts. When I first saw him in Sliding Doors I thought he was ugly. When I saw him in Cal when he was young, I thought he would make a good Snape. I also think he has a great voice for Snape. It can be smooth or go into a loud scream, which he showed on The Secret of Roan Inish.

These are my top choices. Granted no actor has come close to my imagination.
I also have to give special mention to Jeremy Irons and his Snape in Comic Con.
On Youtube I liked to watch this channel https://www.youtube.com/@simbasible and see the AI dream cast for Harry Potter from different decades. Usually I am not pleased who is picked for Snape, or most characters. But an actor I always thought from the past that would do well as Snape is Basil Rathbone. The simbasible finally picked him. Do you have an actor from bygone days that you think would do well as Snape?

Its great,basil rathbone have big nose and dark eyes. But the one i noticed, his nose is not too hooked while it was big like snape. Unfortunately :(. Snape hooked nose is always being noticed and mocked.
To me,adrien brody from movie the pianist is my preference if i imagine 30 years old snape that teaching harry
