It would've been so satisfying, to see him survive, heal, and grow old.
I think a ledger specifically designed for keeping track of his potion ingredients would've been a perfect gift for him.
I'd consider the next best thing to be a trip to an Icelandic spa (cough*Blue Lagoon*cough), and the next-next best thing a large pot of Cullen Skink, a pan of cottage pie, and a demijohn of hard cider.
