Hi, I liked the Harry Potter series as a kid but my mum never let me read the books, so I'm trying to read them now 🙂 also Snape is one of my favourites

This is safe place for Snape Fans. Don't worry. As a kid,I watched movie first before I read a Book. Turns out book is having many Plot point that not included in Movie. But even after I read Book,My Likeness toward Snape is getting stronger,especially after I see how story is described from harry eyes. So I want to say this when you read the book.:
The point of View of harry is not 100% accurate and we must have gather small little point to realized what harry see is truth,is actually not

Welcome. I read the books first. I have not watched the movies that much, some only once. I agree with luke about most of the books are written through Harry's point of view. What books have you read from the series? Some Harry Potter fans claim that the only reason us Snape fans like the character is because of Alan Rickman. Not true. But I am curious what your views would be. I also recommend the audio version. I have listened to all three of the English versions. The latest one is a full cast version.
Also, I'm one of the few that would have liked to see Tim Roth play Snape. He was originally offered the part. He is closer to Snape's age at the time of the first movies. Snape was born in 1960 and Tim Roth was born in 1961. Alan Rickman was born 1946. I also think Tim Roth would have acted closer to book Snape. I read a comment where someone said that Tim Roth was to short to play Snape. We are never given Snape's height only that Sirius is taller. I guess my point is that I like Snape because of the books.

We dont know snape canon height,but from jk rowling first sketchs of harry potter character,snape is found to be same height as Dumbledore. Dumbledore is described to be tall,so I bet snape is enough tall but not taller than sirius black.
Yeah,snape in book is deranged when it comes to marauders,but most of all he is calm but poisonous if you failed or not keeping his standard of ethics in his class.

I agree, I think of Snape as tall, because in their 5th year, Lily leans against a pillar and looks up at him.
