hello everyone! 🙂
i'm so glad that i found this forum and that there are actually people here actively appreciating this wonderful snape! i'm so excited to meet you all! how old are you? how long have you been fans? do you write fanfictions? and how do you feel as fans – rather extremely informed and appreciative – or rather (like me at the moment) longingly smitten like a teenager and at the same time full of sweet, bitter pain?
by the way, i'm 31 years old. i started writing fanfictions when i was about 15 (and stopped around 18) – nothing to do with the harry potter universe. the first time i really lost myself in this world was about 6 years ago, but i wasn't writing fanfiction then.
now it really hit me again!
i don't even know exactly why right now. maybe it was the combination of having to sit at the computer and write all the time because of my master's thesis, which suddenly inspired me to write prose – and then i stumbled across snape content and suddenly i was just sucked in by this profundity of his character and this abnormal, incredible beauty!
unfortunately, in addition to my parasocial love experience, a wave of painful sadness washed over me only a short time later. realizing how many years have passed since the publication of the books and films. and the thought that the wonderful alan rickman, who embodies the role i so adored (not just the role, but him too), is no longer with us since such a long time. 🙁 i was also gripped by concern: are the fan communities even still alive? is anything still going on? in my search, i've come across some rather empty forums, which completely shocked me.
well, i'm all the happier to have found this forum now. and i'm so glad to finally be able to get everything i just said out, because it's not something i would tell my friends or boyfriend in this form, haha! i hope i meet similarly obsessed people here. <3
