This story has many parts (these are my favorites), thanks to which the action moves slowly and the characters are not flat, so to speak, they have time to develop. Lucius turns out to be good here (I like this theme too). And he makes delicious cherry vodka, i.e. liqueur with cherries (one of my favorite parts is when Lily gets drunk on it, it's really worth getting to this point).
There is even a second part of it ("More than Hope"), but unfortunately, despite being flooded with comments, the story has come to a standstill. :(((( I still hope that this will change. Here it is:

The writing and declension of nouns and adjectives is even worse. :DDDHaha, we have this with Dutch too! Some people say it sounds either like drunken German or like Simlish (The fictional language spoken by the fictional people in "The Sims" video game series.) As an avid "Sims" player myself, I do not really see the resemblance between Simlish and Dutch, but it is a very funny comparison nonetheless, haha! I have also heard that people get weirded out by it because some words apparently sound very much like English, but yet not quite. Like, they can almost understand what is being said, but then some random gibberish is thrown inbetween, hahaha. :p
Languages are such an interesting topic to me. How humans came up with all these different languages with different sounds and writing boggles my mind sometimes! :p
(Also, reading Harry Potter in Dutch is an experience, if I could say so myself, considering Dutch has many words that sound funny even to the Dutch themselves. The names were left in their original form, and since we are also based on Greek and Latin culture, names such as Albus, Severus or Minevra do not arouse laughter. There is even a male name, Seweryn, in Polish! One boy in our school has this name! It means a man who is strict, stern and serious. In Poland, no one would laugh at his name when he was a student :(. We also have a female name Lilianna. Contrary to appearances, we have some equivalents here.

There are indeed many Polish people who come to work here in the Netherlands. Where I live, it is not uncommon to see cars with a Polish license plate. Funny that you know someone who works here, though, that makes the world feel a lot smaller, indeed!

Interesting observation with the languages, btw. What I know is that English is a bit of an outsider when it comes to Germanic languages. They are officially considered Germanic, but it is very unique in that regard. (I could be wrong on this, though) Meaning that it doesn't really sound like a Germanic language, even though it is. Some also say that English is "easier" to learn, considering they don't use many of the rules other languages do that make them difficult to learn for many people (like gendered words, etc.).
Even though I just said English was kind of unique when it came to Germanic languages, it does share quite some similarities with Dutch. However, I have heard that the words that are similar are usually lent by the English from the Dutch, instead of the other way around like I'd thought. An example is the English word "landscape", which is apparently derived from the Dutch word "landschap". I always thought this was the other way around, considering English is the way more popular language! :p

Considering your translator is Google Translate, it is actually doing a better job than I expected, considering I used it a few years ago and it was absolute garbage with translating full sentences. I looked it up and Severus' surname is "Piton" in both Italian and Hungarian, according to the Wiki (https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_characters_in_translations_of_Harry_Potter#Severus_Snape). In French it is "Rogue". Also according to the Wiki, "Piton" is in both languages derived from the word "python", which is a type of snake. So, I think "Severus Piton" would literally translate to "Severus Snake" in English. :p
There is no explanation on the Wiki for the surname of "Rogue" that the French Severus has, but I did find one from a French reader on another site (https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/235139/does-jkr-have-a-reason-to-call-severus-snape-snape), they say the word "rogue" describes someone who is gloomy, arrogant and stiff. Gloomy and stiff, yes. But arrogant? I think that fits James better. :p
In Dutch, the surname "Sneep" does not have any additional meaning, at least to my knowledge. I think the reason they changed it from "Snape" to "Sneep" in the Dutch version is because in Dutch "Sneep" is pronounced as "Snape". Had it been left written as "Snape", Dutch people who aren't too familiar with the English language would probably pronounce it as "Snap".
Interesting that the Polish version of "Snivellus" has an actual, clear meaning behind it. "Snivellus", the English version of the mocking nickname, may come from the word "snivel", which means to "cry and sniff in a feeble or fretful way". Basically to cry in a very "weak" way, like a small child. Which is the exact opposite of what Severus would do. Especially when attacked by the Marauders. You wouldn't catch our dear Sev sniveling even if he was on the brink of death. This explanation of the English version of the nickname is all speculation however. If this is the actual "meaning" behind "Snivellus", however, the Marauders may have chosen it to anger or belittle Severus. Basically calling him weak in front of everyone. And, as we know from the sixth "Harry Potter" book, "Harry Potter & the Halfblood Prince", Severus does not like being called a coward/weak, so maybe the Marauders knew this and chose it to try and get a rise out of him.
Side note: I also remember reading somewhere that "Snivellus" meant something along the lines of being a "snitch", which, considering Severus' mastery at keeping things secret, would not fit him either. :p However, I could not find anything related to this anymore, so I could be remembering wrong.
As for the Dutch version of the mocking nickname, he is called "Secretus". I don't think it has any meaning in Dutch, besides sounding very ugly to the reader. However, it could possibly come from the English word of "secret". But, that is just my speculation.
Cool that you read some of the books when you were young, but I can get behind you not really "grasping" it. I started reading the books for the first time when I was fourteen, so I was already a teenager. Do you ever plan on revisiting the books (or films)?
Also, the original "English" names of the "Harry Potter" characters do not arouse laughter in the Dutch either. I personally think they are beautiful. I find the Dutch translation of them to be silly. Albus Dumbledore is called "Albus Perkamentus" in Dutch. For a Dutch person, the word "Perkamentus" could sound very childlike, like it came out of a children's fairytale. I think this is partly the reason why I could never convince my parents to read the "Harry Potter" books as well when I first discovered them, the Dutch names of the characters possibly sound too silly for them to take the story seriously. This is why I wished they had released a Dutch version of the book but with the original names, like they did with the Polish version.
Seweryn seems like a beautiful name! Nice to know that that is thus not an uncommon name in Poland. Considering its meaning, I wonder why they didn't use it as a Polish replacement for the name Severus in Harry Potter, considering it would fit quite well!

In French it is "Rogue". Also according to the Wiki, "Piton" is in both languages derived from the word "python", which is a type of snake. So, I think "Severus Piton" would literally translate to "Severus Snake" in English. :p
There is no explanation on the Wiki for the surname of "Rogue" that the French Severus has, but I did find one from a French reader on another site (https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/235139/does-jkr-have-a-reason-to-call-severus-snape-snape), they say the word "rogue" describes someone who is gloomy, arrogant and stiff. Gloomy and stiff, yes. But arrogant? I think that fits James better. :p
In Dutch, the surname "Sneep" does not have any additional meaning, at least to my knowledge. I think the reason they changed it from "Snape" to "Sneep" in the Dutch version is because in Dutch "Sneep" is pronounced as "Snape". I find the Dutch translation of them to be silly. Albus Dumbledore is called "Albus Perkamentus" in Dutch. For a Dutch person, the word "Perkamentus" could sound very childlike, like it came out of a children's fairytale. I think this is partly the reason why I could never convince my parents to read the "Harry Potter" books as well when I first discovered them, the Dutch names of the characters possibly sound too silly for them to take the story seriously. This is why I wished they had released a Dutch version of the book but with the original names, like they did with the Polish version.
Seweryn seems like a beautiful name! Nice to know that that is thus not an uncommon name in Poland. Considering its meaning, I wonder why they didn't use it as a Polish replacement for the name Severus in Harry Potter, considering it would fit quite well!

Also, about the Polish language being for tough guys, I think I'd have to agree, considering my head almost starts to spin when I look at it, hahaha.
Some people say that the Polish language in speech resembles a broken, crackling radio or the hiss of a snake. There's something going on. The writing and declension of nouns and adjectives is even worse. :DDDHaha, we have this with Dutch too! Some people say it sounds either like drunken German or like Simlish (The fictional language spoken by the fictional people in "The Sims" video game series.) As an avid "Sims" player myself, I do not really see the resemblance between Simlish and Dutch, but it is a very funny comparison nonetheless, haha! I have also heard that people get weirded out by it because some words apparently sound very much like English, but yet not quite. Like, they can almost understand what is being said, but then some random gibberish is thrown inbetween, hahaha. :p
Languages are such an interesting topic to me. How humans came up with all these different languages with different sounds and writing boggles my mind sometimes! :p
(Also, reading Harry Potter in Dutch is an experience, if I could say so myself, considering Dutch has many words that sound funny even to the Dutch themselves. An example of this is with our dear Severus. In the Dutch version of Harry Potter, he is called "Severus Sneep" I mean, Sneep?! It cracks me up lmao. As a child, I probably read 3 or 4 Potter books, but back then I didn't pick up such linguistic tidbits. The names were left in their original form, and since we are also based on Greek and Latin culture, names such as Albus, Severus or Minevra do not arouse laughter. There is even a male name, Seweryn, in Polish! One boy in our school has this name! It means a man who is strict, stern and serious. In Poland, no one would laugh at his name when he was a student :(. We also have a female name Lilianna. Contrary to appearances, we have some equivalents here.

"Try to learn" is too much to say, I don't have the mind to learn foreign languages, I simply learned German at school. It's a pity, now I would have to pay a lot of money to learn it, and it would still have no effect. Maybe in the next life. 😀
I liked Latin in college, I took two semesters of it. It is such a logical language and has declensions and conjugations like Polish! <3 Maybe that's why I like the Harry Potter universe - Latin fits perfectly into the magical world. 😀

Unfortunately, I know very little about language families and I have always wondered why English is Germanic. German is also logical in its structure (I remember those long word clusters). Half of humanity knows English thanks to colonization, which is why it is so common. On the difficulty scale, it's probably at an average level, if I'm not mistaken.
Originally, England was inhabited by Celts, I wonder what the English language would look like today if history had been different in the Middle Ages. 😀
In Polish we also know the word landszaft (Polonized, of course)! It means landscape. Dutch painting is wonderful, I'm not surprised that this word spread from there! :3

Ordinary language too - during my studies at university I learned an obscene medieval poem with many borrowings from Czech. And this is how we live in Central Europe. 😀

As a child in primary school, I went to the cinema (today it no longer exists 🙁 ) to see the first part of Harry Potter, but it was so fairy-tale, colorful, not like the last parts. The director did a great job. It's probably the same one from "Home Alone"? It reminds me of my childhood. My school was also closed many years ago.
A translator has a very difficult role to play. I'm sorry it didn't do well in the Dutch version. The Potter series is also a lecture about friendship, courage and the power of love. It's a pity your parents didn't find out. But I understand that the ridiculousness of the names discouraged them.

"Książę" means "prince", we know :D, but in Polish this word is strange and difficult to write. Totally detached from this word in other European languages. Just like "moon". Originally, "księżyc" meant the son of "prince" czyli "księcia", then it became the name of our satellite. 😀

PS In Poland, a few years after the war, "The Academy of Mr. Kleks" was written. It was supposed to be the author's escape into the world of fantasy after the nightmare of war. The action also takes place in a magical academy. It's a fairy tale for children, but now a new movie version has been released (a rather loose adaptation) and I wonder how similar it is to Harry Potter. 🙂 I recommend it, it's a beautiful story, maybe it was translated into Dutch.

Some people say that the Polish language in speech resembles a broken, crackling radio or the hiss of a snake. There's something going on. The writing and declension of nouns and adjectives is even worse. :DDDHaha, we have this with Dutch too! Some people say it sounds either like drunken German or like Simlish (The fictional language spoken by the fictional people in "The Sims" video game series.) As an avid "Sims" player myself, I do not really see the resemblance between Simlish and Dutch, but it is a very funny comparison nonetheless, haha! I have also heard that people get weirded out by it because some words apparently sound very much like English, but yet not quite. Like, they can almost understand what is being said, but then some random gibberish is thrown inbetween, hahaha. :p
Languages are such an interesting topic to me. How humans came up with all these different languages with different sounds and writing boggles my mind sometimes! :p
(Also, reading Harry Potter in Dutch is an experience, if I could say so myself, considering Dutch has many words that sound funny even to the Dutch themselves. An example of this is with our dear Severus. In the Dutch version of Harry Potter, he is called "Severus Sneep" I mean, Sneep?! It cracks me up lmao. As a child, I probably read 3 or 4 Potter books, but back then I didn't pick up such linguistic tidbits. The names were left in their original form, and since we are also based on Greek and Latin culture, names such as Albus, Severus or Minevra do not arouse laughter. There is even a male name, Seweryn, in Polish! One boy in our school has this name! It means a man who is strict, stern and serious. In Poland, no one would laugh at his name when he was a student :(. We also have a female name Lilianna. Contrary to appearances, we have some equivalents here.

Interesting observation with the languages, btw. What I know is that English is a bit of an outsider when it comes to Germanic languages. They are officially considered Germanic, but it is very unique in that regard. (I could be wrong on this, though) Meaning that it doesn't really sound like a Germanic language, even though it is. Some also say that English is "easier" to learn, considering they don't use many of the rules other languages do that make them difficult to learn for many people (like gendered words, etc.).
Even though I just said English was kind of unique when it came to Germanic languages, it does share quite some similarities with Dutch. However, I have heard that the words that are similar are usually lent by the English from the Dutch, instead of the other way around like I'd thought. An example is the English word "landscape", which is apparently derived from the Dutch word "landschap". I always thought this was the other way around, considering English is the way more popular language! :p

I looked it up and Severus' surname is "Piton" in both Italian and Hungarian, according to the Wiki (https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_characters_in_translations_of_Harry_Potter#Severus_Snape). In French it is "Rogue". Also according to the Wiki, "Piton" is in both languages derived from the word "python", which is a type of snake. So, I think "Severus Piton" would literally translate to "Severus Snake" in English. :p
There is no explanation on the Wiki for the surname of "Rogue" that the French Severus has, but I did find one from a French reader on another site (https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/235139/does-jkr-have-a-reason-to-call-severus-snape-snape), they say the word "rogue" describes someone who is gloomy, arrogant and stiff. Gloomy and stiff, yes. But arrogant? I think that fits James better. :p
In Dutch, the surname "Sneep" does not have any additional meaning, at least to my knowledge. I think the reason they changed it from "Snape" to "Sneep" in the Dutch version is because in Dutch "Sneep" is pronounced as "Snape". Had it been left written as "Snape", Dutch people who aren't too familiar with the English language would probably pronounce it as "Snap".
Interesting that the Polish version of "Snivellus" has an actual, clear meaning behind it. "Snivellus", the English version of the mocking nickname, may come from the word "snivel", which means to "cry and sniff in a feeble or fretful way". Basically to cry in a very "weak" way, like a small child. Which is the exact opposite of what Severus would do. Especially when attacked by the Marauders. You wouldn't catch our dear Sev sniveling even if he was on the brink of death. This explanation of the English version of the nickname is all speculation however. If this is the actual "meaning" behind "Snivellus", however, the Marauders may have chosen it to anger or belittle Severus. Basically calling him weak in front of everyone. And, as we know from the sixth "Harry Potter" book, "Harry Potter & the Halfblood Prince", Severus does not like being called a coward/weak, so maybe the Marauders knew this and chose it to try and get a rise out of him.
Side note: I also remember reading somewhere that "Snivellus" meant something along the lines of being a "snitch", which, considering Severus' mastery at keeping things secret, would not fit him either. :p However, I could not find anything related to this anymore, so I could be remembering wrong.

This is why I wished they had released a Dutch version of the book but with the original names, like they did with the Polish version.

"Książę" means "prince", we know :D, but in Polish this word is strange and difficult to write. Totally detached from this word in other European languages. Just like "moon". Originally, "księżyc" meant the son of "prince" czyli "księcia", then it became the name of our satellite.

In French it is "Rogue". Also according to the Wiki, "Piton" is in both languages derived from the word "python", which is a type of snake. So, I think "Severus Piton" would literally translate to "Severus Snake" in English. :p
There is no explanation on the Wiki for the surname of "Rogue" that the French Severus has, but I did find one from a French reader on another site (https://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/235139/does-jkr-have-a-reason-to-call-severus-snape-snape), they say the word "rogue" describes someone who is gloomy, arrogant and stiff. Gloomy and stiff, yes. But arrogant? I think that fits James better. :p

Some people say that the Polish language in speech resembles a broken, crackling radio or the hiss of a snake. There's something going on. The writing and declension of nouns and adjectives is even worse. :DDDHaha, we have this with Dutch too! Some people say it sounds either like drunken German or like Simlish (The fictional language spoken by the fictional people in "The Sims" video game series.) As an avid "Sims" player myself, I do not really see the resemblance between Simlish and Dutch, but it is a very funny comparison nonetheless, haha! I have also heard that people get weirded out by it because some words apparently sound very much like English, but yet not quite. Like, they can almost understand what is being said, but then some random gibberish is thrown inbetween, hahaha. :p

I find the Dutch translation of them to be silly. Albus Dumbledore is called "Albus Perkamentus" in Dutch. For a Dutch person, the word "Perkamentus" could sound very childlike, like it came out of a children's fairytale. I think this is partly the reason why I could never convince my parents to read the "Harry Potter" books as well when I first discovered them, the Dutch names of the characters possibly sound too silly for them to take the story seriously. This is why I wished they had released a Dutch version of the book but with the original names, like they did with the Polish version.
Seweryn seems like a beautiful name! Nice to know that that is thus not an uncommon name in Poland. Considering its meaning, I wonder why they didn't use it as a Polish replacement for the name Severus in Harry Potter, considering it would fit quite well!

"Książę" means "prince", we know :D, but in Polish this word is strange and difficult to write. Totally detached from this word in other European languages. Just like "moon". Originally, "księżyc" meant the son of "prince" czyli "księcia", then it became the name of our satellite.

Latin! I always wanted to pick that back up, and maybe sometime in the future, when I've got time for it, I will. I briefly started with taking voluntary Latin classes back in high school, but that was right around the time when I fell into a depression (which combined itself with a burnout), so I never got to finish the class, sadly. However, maybe someday I will give the Latin language another chance! It is such a mysterious/curious language and it does indeed seem to fit beautifully into the Wizarding World!

I've drowned a lot of Sims in the pool since I first started playing. Even better, when "The Sims 3" came around and it was revealed you could control ghosts, I drowned the whole family just so that I could play as them in their ghost form (RIP my poor Sims, I am sorry I was such a wicked child. :p)!
Today, I mostly play The Sims 2, as it is my favourite out of the series. Considering time progresses one family at a time (the rest of the town doesn't age until you play their household), I like to play in "rounds", meaning I play each household a certain amount of days and then switch to the next family. This way, the families and their ages stay in-sync with each other. It is like playing the whole neighbourhood! I have spreadsheets for it (wherein I track all my Sims in the neighbourhood and their info), hahaha 😛 Considering this "neighbourhood play" approach is difficult to achieve in the newer Sims games, where everyone progresses at the same time, it is also one of the reasons I mostly stick with The Sims 2.
If I still drown my Sims in the pool? Sometimes. For storytelling mostly. For example, some Sims in "The Sims 2", when they hate another Sim, they will want to "see the ghost of that Sim". I interpret this as wanting the other Sim dead and sometimes, I will grant their wish. :p
Hahahah, The Sims has been described as sort of a "utopia" (hilariously low bills, etc.) it is supposed to be a representation of real life, but lets not kid ourselves indeed! 😛
About the English language being classified as Germanic. I sometimes indeed think that English should have its own special category, considering it is so different from most other languages, haha.
I also often wonder about if things had gone differently in history. For example, New York was called New Amsterdam in the 1600s, because it was owned by the Dutch. However, we traded the city with the English in exchange for a small island. Because of this, New Amsterdam became New York. So, I often wonder what would've happened if the Dutch had kept New York (as New Amsterdam) for their own. Would the world have spoken Dutch then instead? Curious to think about!

Languages are truly something else... The Dutch language also has words from other languages, mainly French. I think this has to do with Belgium. As they speak both Dutch and French.

About the Marauders' death. Yeah, I do not feel sorry for them either (maybe a little for Remus, but my view on him has always been complicated). About Peter's death, my memory is a little foggy. But, I looked it up and the Harry Potter Wiki says: "In the spring of 1998, during the Skirmish at Malfoy Manor, in a moment of rare mercy, he hesitated to strangle Harry Potter when Harry reminded him of his life debt. The silver hand Lord Voldemort had given Pettigrew interpreted his hesitation as weakness or disloyalty, and strangled him to death." I remembered it as a suicide, but maybe it was actually Voldemort who (albeit indirectly) killed him.
Also, the films changed his death scene. It isn't also ever shown in the films if he dies or not (for some reason, why show Remus dead but not Peter?) In the films, Dobby the House Elf hits him with a spell from a lost wand he found (possibly Harry's or Ron's, I don't remember) and Peter falls to the floor. It isn't made clear if he died, but if he did, then Dobby killing him is way darker than what happened in the books in my opinion!

When talking about the "Deathly Hallows" films, the second one is my favourite. This is probably because it is one book split into two films and such the first film doesn't end as satisfyingly, I think. However, Sev's death is indeed very sad. Also, yes, the first (two) films were beautifully and so warmly shot! (They were shot by the same director.) From the third film on it goes on to be a bit darker, but I still really like the vibe in the third film. It's from the fourth film on that it really gets dull (the atmosphere, I mean). After the fourth film it's a complete 180 turn from the vibe the first two films had. But, considering the books also get darker, I do understand.
"White" Dumbledore? Yeah, that would be a bit weird, I think. He does have a really white beard, though! (Also, am I the only one who prefers the Albus Dumbledore from the first two films? It is a shame that actor passed away in 2002. Michael Gambon also had his charms, but I always preferred Dumbledore's previous actor. He was just way more calm and wise-like.)
The Polish language seems very interesting! What I can gather from your comment is that the words for "prince" and "moon" are very similar? If that is the case, then it's very funny/fitting that Severus' mother's surname is "Prince" (at least in the English version). I always found Severus and the moon to be a fitting combination (especially since Lily compares him to the moon ("Severus is like the moon, mysterious and beautiful at the same time." or something along those lines, in the fanfic I shared with you ("A Life Worth Dying For").)!

Oglądałeś kiedyś filmową wersję "Harry'ego Pottera i więźnia Azkabanu"? Jest naprawdę dobrze nakręcony i moim zdaniem najlepszy film z nich wszystkich!
Również tak, pierwsze (dwa) filmy były pięknie i tak ciepło nakręcone! (Zostały postrzelone przez tego samego reżysera.) Od trzeciego filmu jest nieco ciemniejszy, ale nadal bardzo podoba mi się klimat w trzecim filmie. To z czwartego filmu o tym, że naprawdę robi się nudny (to znaczy atmosfera). Po czwartym filmie jest to kompletna 180 tury od wibracji, które miały pierwsze dwa filmy. Ale biorąc pod uwagę, że książki też stają się ciemniejsze, rozumiem.
"Biały" Dumbledore? Myślę, że to byłoby trochę dziwne. Ma naprawdę białą brodę! (Czy jestem też jedyną osobą, która woli Albusa Dumbledore’a od pierwszych dwóch filmów? Szkoda, że aktor zmarł w 2002 roku. Michael Gambon również miał swoje uroki, ale zawsze wolałem poprzedniego aktora Dumbledorera. Był po prostu spokojniejszy i mądry.)
Język polski wydaje się bardzo ciekawy! To, co mogę wyciągnąć z twojego komentarza, to to, że słowa "księcia" i "księżyc" są bardzo podobne? Jeśli tak jest, to bardzo zabawne / pasujące, że nazwisko matki Severusa to "Prince" (przynajmniej w wersji angielskiej). Zawsze uważałem Severusa i księżyc za odpowiednią kombinację (szczególnie, ponieważ Lily porównuje go do księżyca ("Severus jest jak księżyc, tajemniczy i piękny w tym samym czasie." lub coś w tym samym czasie, w fanficie, który podzieliłem się z tobą ("Życie warte umierania").)!
Również, jak ciekawa jest to, że rodzaj polskiej wersji Harry'ego Pottera został wydany na długo przed powstaniem prawdziwych książek o Harrym Potterze! Zastanawiam się, jak bardzo są podobne! Sprawdziłem książkę i nie została ona przetłumaczona na język niderlandzki, ale has została przetłumaczona na język angielski!

Latin. It's a wonderful language and I also think it fits perfectly into the magical world, especially alchemy and potions. <3 Knowing Latin also makes it easier to learn many languages, not only Romance languages. Many words have Latin roots and knowing them makes it easier to learn, for example, English. It's so fascinating! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you'll come back to his studies!

English today is, like French, a universal language. Overall, it's easier to learn than French (although they have a sonorous r, like in Polish :D). But medieval Latin would still be best, ha, ha!

I think that in every language there are many influences from the speech of neighbors. It's the same in Poland. This shows how language is alive and changing. Politics is yours and your Belgian neighbor is yours.

Exactly. The movie should have clearly shown that Peter dies. I don't like bloody scenes, but I think Severus deserves it. I read one dark Snily where he kills him himself and bathes his son in his blood. Dark but fair.
Remus' death scene was sad. In my opinion, he was the best of all the Marauders anyway, he was simply afraid of rejection by the school community and that's why he joined them. Well, it's hard.

The version of Sev in the book and the movie is different, it's true. That's why I like to imagine it in my own way. His death scene always makes me emotional, just like watching Harry's memories (I only watch selected scenes on YouTube or Facebook because I'm a masochist :P). In the book, he wasn't the one who found Lily's body. But I think it fits very well. It's such a heartbreaking scene. ;(((((

I haven't watched "The Prisoner of Azkaban", only fragments. Ha, yesterday it was broadcast on TVN7 in the evening, and today there is a repeat in 1.5 hours.
I think the whole series is ok (but as I mentioned, I haven't watched it in its entirety, so I don't think I have the right to write like that). I'm afraid of what will be shown in the new series that is coming out. Who will play the new Severus? I'm not going to watch it, especially because I miss Alan Rickman so much. :((((

OK, if you insist, haha! Some of us Dutch people are kind of taught to always think optimistically and many of us are also very ambitious. Combine that with my own father being a very strong-willed person when it comes to learning new things and my mother being the biggest optimist there is, you get me, haha! :p You know, it is kind of nice to talk to someone who is on the more cynical side of life, because trust me, the ambitiousness and optimism can really get on your nerves sometimes (talking from experience here, haha)! Maybe that's why I fell in love with Sev's character! :p

Yes, I was indeed depressed once upon a time (in highschool specifically), but I am doing way better now! I am still on antidepressants (I am currently in my early 20s). But yes, I can say I have recovered, so yipiee!!

Again, languages are so fascinating. It's both fluid and static at the same time. People add many rules onto it (i.e. grammar tests in school), while it also constantly changes and evolves. Languages truly are something else...

Yes, out of all the Marauders, Remus had the most "potential". "Potential" as in, Remus' descent into being a participant of the Marauders had probably more to do with poor decision-making than with malice... I always think that if he'd tried to make friends with Sev and Lily instead of the Marauders, that he would have been accepted by them as well (and he'd probably be much happier, considering Lily and Sev aren't bullies).

About the new series; I am also really curious to see who will play Severus now. Alan Rickman will always have a special place in my heart, though, as the Snape. I am hoping the new actor for him will be Adam Driver, but that is just my personal pick. I hope it'll be someone who can do Snape, his character and his story, justice!
