We need somewhere where we can post anything about music. What we like, what we hate. What we grew up with. Musicals. Any genre. Any language. Instrumental. Your own music if you sing or play an instrument. I did make a violin, and I do not play it, but there is someone on youtube who is playing a few tunes on it. The only rule I think we should have is not to post lists of songs or SPAM a whole lot in one day. Maybe three max. Remember there is the next day to post. I personally like getting introduced to new music.
Posting this because it is fitting for this day and others my age are posting it. I wasn't a teenage when it came out, but I was sure dancing to it.
Earth, Wind & Fire's song "September" was released as a single on November 18, 1978.
Some of the lyrics and here where I am now it is the 21st of September and many of us are ready for the fall.

I have been listing to the song "Always Something There to Remind Me" a few times when I've turned on the radio when I am driving. I have been wanting to watch the video, which I remember from years ago. I also wanted to look up the many versions of the song, which was written by Burt Bacharach. I tend to do that. I just saw that the lead singer Peter Byrne died. Not that I know much about him. I just know that this song was part of many called the second British Music Invasion that took place in the early 1980s, when a lot of the top hits were from the UK and were synth-pop and New Wave. This band had two hits in the US that I know of. May he R.I.P.
One of my favorite female singers and from one of my favorite albums from the 1980s. This song means different things to different people, but to me it always reminds me of going through depression and holding on. Which we all go through and I think listening to music lets us know we are not alone in going through it. I remember I had a mix tape of songs I listened to, but holding on to one more day (that is another song) does work. There was a word my mom use to say to me, but I don't remember but it meant something like "pull yourself up". I'm going to have to ask my sister.
It isn't Sunday afternoon where I am yet, and I don't know if Sunday afternoon has passed for you yet but you can still enjoy some Small Faces. In this song Steve Marriott sings with an exaggerated Cockney accent. He is also played the Artful Dodger on stage. In the video you will see the outhouses. In Whitehound's essay about Spinner's End she mentioned them probably being at Spinner's End. I remember my grandparents didn't get a bathroom until the early 80's and had an out house that we had to use if we need the bathroom. Yes they took baths. My other grandparents also had an outhouse, but it wasn't used anymore, because they built their other house in the 1960s with indoor plumbing.

When I was a kid/teenager, I listened to 50 Cent, Cypress Hill, Green Day, and The Offspring a lot (I still enjoy listening to Green Day and The Offspring today), and actually New Kids on the Block, too (oh man, I loved them). Then came East 17. And then my musical taste shifted toward German rock, with bands like “Die Toten Hosen” and “Die Ärzte” (I’m going to a concert on May 1, 2027—I’m already looking forward to it). Now FreiWild is one of my favorite bands.

The Green Day song that goes "My shadow's the only one that walks beside me" is such a good one for young Severus : )
The lyrics make me think of him as a boy wandering Cokeworth by himself...and of his homelife ("Read between the lines/What's f***ed up and everything's all right")
