New Harry Potter TV Series in Production
What are your thoughts about this?
Not gonna lie, I'm concerned that the showrunners might miscast certain characters or inject material that might contradict who and what the characters are.
I mostly fear them screwing up Snape's character. He is either gonna be loved or hated, nothing in between.
I also fear they will whitewash the marauders.
Snape's a tough one. On the one hand, they might lean into him being marginalized. On the other hand, and this may be more likely, they'll try to equate him to being a Nazi and therefore cancel him as a character.
I don't think they will portray him as Nazi. They will closely follow the book canon and supervised by JKR herself. That being said I hope the woman remembers her damned canon considering her screwing up with retcons and late canon works.
Not sure from where, but I've heard that she doesn't know why people side against James. There's a dangerous possibility that she'll lean into downplaying his behavior.
I hope she doesn't downplay it and keeps things book canon. She should show the truth and let people form their own opinions.
They should cast age appropriate actors for the series. While Alan was fantastic, I want book accurate Snape in looks, age and personality. Also age appropriate marauders including 21 year old Lily and James.
I just hope it is not influenced by some fanfics particularly ATYD for marauder fen appeasement.
Please, adopt anything but the fucking ATYD 💢
