Oh, wow! Okay, yes. This was a really intense Part I and I'm...very much in need of taking a step back and really processing this, before moving onto the next chapters. It's that good!I had a hard time with your characterization of James Potter, only because it felt really, disappointingly TRUE. Like, this is what we're meant to believe of Harry's father, based on the handful of times we saw him in unbiased Pensieve memories. Everything we'd heard about James Potter from other characters just did not match up with the memories in a Pensieve that were very clearly not altered...and it wasn't nice. It was really terrible, honestly. That was a nasty little wakeup call that Harry's father and friends were that awful and how much they loved him didn't make up for that; a very harsh truth! Right here, you've really stuck to canon without making up anything other than what we were given on the page! It's really good. I really like it.
I'm very sad at how this concluded, but also, it was warned. That's why I have to take a step back for a few days before picking up. This whole character arc was real and one of the best interpretations for how Severitius could be hidden right there in canon without changing the actual story. This was great! I'm really looking forward to what happens when they find out the truth!
I'll be back in few days to pick this up again and I can't WAIT to read Part II. 🙂

Ngl, I'm still really bummed out that Lily had to die, but I like the direction it took.
Yeah, it was hard to write, but necessary for this story. In the future, I'd love to write a Severitus story where Lily lives. ❤️

-------------------This is a very well written story. It is the only Snape/Lily story I have really enjoyed. For the record, I think Lily loved both James and Snape. But that is not the only reason I enjoyed this. I think you did a great job of condensing the parts that needed it and giving us new perspectives when needed. And even an appropriate level of Dumbledore critic. I have always thought that part of the reason Snape was so hard on Harry was because he was afraid to get too close and to some extent wanted to push him away, similar to the idea that it hurt to be reminded of the woman he lost. Well done!

I mean, when they put it like that, I can't unsee it. Did I accidentally create a comic book hero? XD
