Meta: Severus Snape and arrested development
Here's a very interesting meta analysis I found on tumblr, I wonder what everyone else thinks of it.

I'm typing it on a phone so excuse me any weird text quirks.
To be fair it's an impression I share to a degree, mostly from the point of being focused on the aspect of an adult acting out their teenage trauma through unpleasant behavior. Wouldn't use as strong of a word as "still a child" due to him showing maturity on other levels, its just varying in its lack and presence between areas of his life. I consider things like taking responsibility and sacrificial nature to be mature, for example while the pinpointed things to be an outlier in the general maturity.
It is one of the things about Snape I don't excuse nor condone to but yeah, definitely it's tied back to school being the time in his life where both best and most traumatic events happened and he's still very much haunted by them, maybe grasping as much and little control as he can after years of feeling powerless in his family town and school.
It's something I can relate to personally as school period in my life is something that I still get nightmares of and still havent healed from due to the intense trauma transcending almost any else event that happened. It's absolutely believable to me that he still is suffering to the same extent contributing to him acting out like this. Especially that he is still stuck at the same place due to his affiliations as a double agent and unable to cut his way out of the position he's been put into. You can't heal at a place you fell sick in as I once heard. And it's quite hard to judge this as a whole either as for all those reasons I doubt he'd feel as obliged to still being a teacher if he no longer was in Voldemorts and Dumbledore's hold. Very multilayered problem with few ways out of. It fills into that gap of him being generally a super morally grey character - you exactly know what's wrong about him but the more you ponder the harder it is to see him acting out healthy due to all the known context. And, he's not illogical either in the way he turned out traumatized for his entire life without receiving much relief at almost any point.

Tak, to niestety prawda, mimo że problemy z systemami szkolnymi to problem globalny. Chyba można policzyć na palcach ręki te funkcjonujące prawie bez większych zarzutów (jak np system fiński). Na pewno jest przynajmniej lepiej niż kiedyś, dziękuję!
