Yes, I have.  A lot comes from discussing theories from the books, reading other fanfiction, TV shows, watching movies from the UK during that time and just my imagination. I like to  keep to the time period and try and look at what was going on in the UK at that time. Will it be perfect and in line with the ever growing canon  that is out there no, but I am looking for satisfaction.  I did like coming across fan fiction that didn't have the Snapes miserable all the time and Tobias being drunk being abusive.  I remember one where Tobias rescued Eileen from a muggle trying to harm her, another one where Eileen was gardening. I think she was planting some flowers. Also Severus telling someone that he wasn't abused. At that time using the belt was the norm. I remember children telling stories about "the belt". The thin ones were worse than the thick ones and moms were the ones that sometimes hit harder than the dads. Dads mostly yelled. What I want is a back story that makes sense and that I enjoy. I also don't think of Eileen and Tobias  ugly people who could only get each other. I see the books are told through Harry's point of view and that age a person is more critical about looks. What I remember is Hermione giving Ron a look when he was insulting Eileen's looks. Here is an AI video of how they could look like in someone's imagination:
