Fan Pairings
I could see the Severus/Voldemort pairing as not only manipulation, but also a way for Voldemort to feed some sort of narcissism, depending on how much of Severus's life he knows. Muggle father, witch mother, treated differently for having magic, Slytherin, genius and inventor, interest in the Dark Arts, hatred of Muggles, taking on an alias to reject his Muggle half, etc.

Exactly! There's so many similarities between them--probabky that's why Voldemort feels so confident and relatively close to Sev, and why Dumbledore didn't interfere as much as he could've during Sev's school days
I've seen this in passing, but stopped reading it when it got sexual: Snape/Tonks. I don't know how to feel about it, because it's almost the same issue I have with Snape/Hermione on account of age difference and student/teacher dynamic. The main difference is that Tonks is no longer a student by the time of the books, which is the typical setting.
I will say Lupin and Tonks always made me feel a bit weird, as far as Canon pairings go. The age gap that people tend to ignore is one thing, but that he also tried chasing after horcruxes while she was pregnant? Idk man. Snape and Tonks, though, I could definitely see that being interesting! I feel like Snape's the more responsible one by far of those two.

Yeah, I don't think Lupin was ready for that sort of commitment. I can't remember the catalyst for their relationship, but I think it was related to Tonks being accepting of Lupin's condition and getting to know him. If that's so, then it may have been more of an "I can heal him" sort of approach on Tonk's side; while this is a very compassionate thing to do, it's not the basis for a healthy relationship, and the fact that he's willing to leave his pregnant wife in favor of horcrux hunting shows that he doesn't value the relationship as much as she does.
Meanwhile, she already knows Snape from her days at Hogwarts; her notorious clumsiness in the potions lab would be a nightmare for Snape. However, the fact that she became an Auror means that she had to excel in at least five subjects, which may cause Snape to have some respect for her.
TBH, I'm not bothered by age difference or the student/teacher dynamic, as long as it's not coercive/abusive/underage. I think it largely depends on the characters, and in Severus and Hermione's case, there are certain factors that (in the right setting) put them on much more equal ground. Tonks, though? I can't make any sense of that one. All I can see is an obvious personality clash/lack of chemistry.
As for Remus/Tonks… don't even get me started on that one. I really don't care what his reasoning was… any man who attempts to abandon his pregnant wife can fuck all the way off.

Based on what I read, it was basically Tonks receiving lessons on Legilimency and Occlumency, and accidentally seeing too much into Snape's head. Snape reacts aggressively, but Tonks has none of it and stops him in his tracks. I can't remember what happens after that.
The fan pairings I love:
- Severus/Hermione - I love this pairing and many fics have made it work well. I don't mind student/teacher relationship aspect as long as they are consenting adults of age without any grooming element. Most of the Snamione I like are time travel fics, post war fics and fics that start in HBP or DH.
- Severus/Lily - I like it for wish fulfillment aspect but except for a few already mentioned in this website, most of them fall flat from my expectations.
- Severus/OC - I have been lately reading these fics involved in all eras and the I love many fics where OC and relationship are well written.
- Severus/Others - Includes Tonks, Narcissa, Ginny, Luna and other canon girls and men. I very rarely read them and only read the well written ones which make the relationship and story work well.
- Harry/Hermione - They had a huge potential in canon and the fics which can work it without any sort of Ron bashing is likeable for me.
- Harry/Luna - Mostly came from the chemistry between them in the movies.
The fan pairings I hate :
- Sirius/Lupin - Ah, the famous wolfstar. I hate it because it can't work in canon yet marauderfen have made it their OTP.
- Marauderfen pairings - Jegulus, Dorlene, Marylily and others. Basically they write marauders as woke culture characters and reflect it in their fics. But they write completely OOC marauders without any canon compliant characters.
- Severus/Marauders - Includes all marauders. I hate any pairing of victim and bully especially with James Potter.
- Severus/his masters - Includes both Dumbledore and Voldemort. Can't describe the loathing for those fics.
I think it's time I tell my take on fan pairings while keeping them specific to Snape pairings:
Snape/OC : My preferred pairing as of now, what I like most about it is the variety of stories in the pairing. Most fun part is seeing Snape falling for someone else and different dynamic with various OCs. I hate reader insert (can't immerse myself 😹😹) and smutty student OC fic without any plot or weak plots.
Snape/Hermione : Second most read fic mostly due to the availability. I mostly prefer time travel or post war scenario for this pairing. I like Hermione because she always defended Snape and didn't seem to hate him. Their relationship can be quite interesting as seen in Gates of Azkaban fic.
Snape/Lily: Has potential to be good yet most of the Snily Snapes seem OOC to me. Best Snily Snape for me is Heatherlly's as of now. Mostly avoided by me unless some fic gets really good rec though some of my dislike of the pairing is to do with my dislike of Lily.
Snape/Harry: Most famous of the Snape ships in the a03, I don't like it because I don't think it can work realistically. Harry looks too much like James for any sort of feelings from Snape and Harry won't fancy the Snape for he won't feel comfortable to pair with his former bully/protector.
Snape/Lupin: Snupin is most famous of the Snape's pairing with any of the marauders. I don't think it could work realistically because whatever they require from a relationship, they can't get from the other.
Snape/Narcissa: I like this pairing. In my first read of Spinner's End chapter, I thought there was something going on between them, it was first time we saw Snape intimately touching and affectionate with someone. They have potential though it is rare to find any good fic without smut, triad with Lucius or Drarry.
Snape/Tonks: I liked some of the rare fics with this pairing. I do think they would work better than Tonks/Lupin. Tonks could certainly love Snape without any prejudice and Snape would certainly treat her better than Lupin.
Snape/Sirius: I loathe Sirius Black so I hate this pairing and Snape would rather Avada Sirius or eat poison than sleeping with Sirius.
Snape/Regulus: I liked this pairing in some of the fics. Regulus is my favourite male character for pairing with Snape alongside male OCs.
Snape/James: 🤮🤮, don't have to say it.
Snape/Happiness: My actual favourite pairing, as long as fic is good with good plot, intriguing character and quality writing with HEA as the goal, I can read anything as long as characters are not OOC.
