CHALLENGE 01: SNAPE LOSES A BET
Write about Snape losing a bet with someone, be they friend, enemy, or somewhere in between. You can write something lighthearted and fun, or darker/more serious. Anything goes, as long as Snape is on the losing side.
CHALLENGE 02: SNAPE'S FAVORITE MEAL
Write about the best meal Snape ever had. It could be related to the food itself and/or the circumstances surrounding that meal (e.g. who he was eating with, what was happening in his life at the time, etc).
CHALLENGE 03: THE HALF-BLOOD MUGGLE
While Snape preferred his magical ancestry, he did have connections to the Muggle world through a non-magical parent. Write about an experience he had that was distinctly "Muggle", either before he went to Hogwarts or on one of his many trips home to Spinner's End.
CHALLENGE 04: SNAPE'S UNPOPULAR OPINION
Write about Snape voicing an unpopular opinion, one that upsets, confuses, or unnerves the person/people he's speaking to. How do they react? Does Snape take it back? Or would he choose to double down?
CHALLENGE 05: SNAPE'S GUILTY PLEASURE
Write about something Snape secretly enjoys, the type of thing that would absolutely mortify him if anyone found out.
CHALLENGE 06: SNAPE'S UNWANTED GIFT
Write about Snape receiving a gift he doesn't want, whether it's the item he dislikes or the person who gave it to him. Would he tell the truth or attempt to spare the giver's feelings? What does he do with the gift after he receives it?
CHALLENGE 07: SNAPE GOES SWIMMING
Write a response where Snape is immersed in water (ocean, river, lake, swimming pool, etc). Does he enjoy it? Does he hate it? Does he even know how to swim? How did he end up in this situation?
CHALLENGE 08: SNAPE'S SECRET ALLY
Write from the perspective of someone who secretly has a positive opinion of Snape. What does this person like about him? Why do they choose to keep it to themselves?
CHALLENGE 09: SNAPE RECEIVES A HOWLER
Write about Snape receiving a furious message from a character of your choice.
CHALLENGE 10: SNAPE'S PETTY REVENGE
Write about Snape taking revenge on another character in a petty, relatively low stakes way.
CHALLENGE 11: THREE SHEETS TO THE WIND
Write about Snape getting drunk. Does he become intoxicated on purpose or does it happen accidentally? How does he behave while under the influence? Will he do anything he'll come to regret the next day?
CHALLENGE 12: CRINGEWORTHY
Write about an incident in Snape's life that was awkward, embarrassing, or downright humiliating. Responses can be lighthearted and fun or more serious, perhaps even traumatic. The only rule is that it must be an original incident, something we never saw happen in canon.
CHALLENGE 13: MAGIC GOES AWRY
Snape might be a talented wizard, but no one is perfect. Write about a situation where he attempts to use magic with disastrous results.
CHALLENGE 14: HIDDEN TALENTS
We learned a lot about Severus in canon, though of course, we don't know everything. Write a response that features another skill or talent you imagine him having, something that was never mentioned in the series.
CHALLENGE 15: SILVER LININGS
Write about a positive moment in Severus's teaching career, one where he doesn't mind or perhaps even enjoys his job.
CHALLENGE 16: STRANGE ACCOMMODATIONS
Write about the strangest and/or most unexpected place Severus ever spent the night.
CHALLENGE 17: BOOKWORM
What is Severus's all-time favorite book? When did he discover it, and why does he like it so much? Is it predictable (e.g. a lengthy tome on Potions or the Dark Arts) or something completely unexpected?
CHALLENGE 18: BIRDS AND BEES
We may not have seen sex education at Hogwarts, but that doesn't mean it didn't exist. Write about an experience Severus had involving sex education, whether learning about the subject as a teenager or forced to teach it as an adult.
CHALLENGE 19: FIRST KISS
Write about the first time Severus ever kissed someone. Who was it? When, where, and how did it happen? Was it a good experience, a bad experience, or somewhere in between?
CHALLENGE 20: THE FIRST TIME
Do you believe Severus lost his virginity in canon? If so, when, how, and with whom do you imagine it happened? Write about his first time as you envision it, or if you believe he remained a virgin, write about the closest he ever came to having sex.
This round of challenges is based on the principle of "show, don't tell". The goal is to write about Severus experiencing a specific emotion without using the word in your response.
