In Memoriam: Stars We've Loved and Lost
Rest in peace, Dame Maggie Smith. A great loss.
RIP Maggie Smith, thank you for making Harry Potter awesome with your role of Minerva McGonagall, one of the most perfect casting in the movies.
I was very saddened by the death of Olivia Hussey on December 27, 2024. Especially since she had previously overcome breast cancer, and we live in a society where dying at 73 is pretty early. Hard to reread Juliet's speeches without hearing her voice from the legendary 1968 movie.
Oh no, I didn't know she had passed! I loved her so much in the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet – what a stunning beauty!
Some celebrity deaths touch us more than others. This one hits hard for me. She was always around. I remember seeing her on Hee Haw when I was a child. R.I.P. Dolly. She wrote over 3,000 songs. This one is probably her most famous. A hit in the 70s and again in 90s made popular again by Whitney Houston.

3000 Song? What?? Its very many for writer song in her career
Yesterday Dolly and today Tim Curry. Like others I wished he would have had a part in Harry Potter movies. I don't know which character, but I just wanted him in the series. Some say Lucius.
Apparently, Tim was the same day as Dolly, just didn't get reported until later
So many celebrities have passed away lately. I couldn't name them all. I also probably named some many are not familiar with, but I'm guessing most here are familiar with Patrick Stewart.
Patrick Stewart- X-men, Star Trek
Walter Koenig- Ensign Chekov from the original Star Trek. I remember staying up and watching late and watching the re-runs on TV.
Tom Skerritt - Alien, Top Gun the movie Mash
He seemed to be in so many movies and TV shows in the 80s and 90s. One movie that comes to mind is Ice Castles (1978) version. I never saw it when it first came out. I saw it years later on DVD, but I always remember the song Looking through the eyes of love that was popular in the 1970s.
Barbara Barrie- I just remember she was in a lot of movies and TV shows. I
Susan Saint James
I remember her on TV first in McMillan & Wife. Where she played opposite Rock Hudson. My sister and I were big Rock Hudson fans growing up. She was also in one of my favorite comedy Vampire movies Love at First Bite.
I know there are others. Like R.J. Mitte from Breaking Bad.
I know I didn't name them all.
