Just saw Professor Dumbledore's introduction and realised I might have skipped a step.
I come from Eastern Europe but am currently studying in the Netherlands. I used to compete in mathematics, informatics and linguistics olympiads; I'm learning Latin, and I read fantasy and crime fiction. In case there was any confusion, I am a stereotypical Ravenclaw.
I found out about this site from a comment @darkangel left on my story (I don't know if I've said this already, but thank you so much for pointing me to this place!). Snape's been my favourite character from the franchise ever since I first read OotP, and though I lurk in the Snape subreddid, it feels kind of dead over there, where as this place is actually alive. I love his snarky comments and the fact that he's so miserable. I guess I just enjoy watching fictional characters – especially the ones I like – get hurt >:)
And then bullied by the good folks into getting the help they need, but that's something I have to rely on fanfiction for.
Welcome into the fold @salvyus. Nice to see you finally introduce yourself and it's nice knowing you. Snape has been favourite character for all of us and you'd fit in right with us.

As @naaga mentioned, we would love it if you added your story to the archive. If you have the time and are interested, would you like to participate in the weekly writing challenges? You don't have to participate every week of course, maybe take a look and see if there's something you like to write about. If you don't have the time because of your story, then that also totally fine, we love having you around either way.
@naaga, @darkangel thank you both. I did check out the writing challenges earlier and some of them sounded very intriguing, so I'll definitely try a few when I feel like it lol. Also, thanks for pointing out the existence of the story archive... I hadn't realised it was a thing
I'm so glad you decided to post an introduction thread! You sound like a fascinating person, and I think I speak for all of us when I say I look forward to getting to know you better. I'd also love to read your fanfic and/or any challenge responses you'd like to share, especially if they're of the angsty variety. 🙂
