What Songs Remind You of Severus Snape and/or His Relationships?

PreviousPage 6 of 10Next

Oh yeah, he was cool as hell back in the day. Hilarious, incredibly smart, and a great kisser. I speak from experience on that last oneโ€ฆ making out with all the goth girls was kind of his thing. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

(Worth mentioning that he was very young and a lot less famous. I'm sure he's better behaved these days.)

Anyway, I think I still have some old pictures of him. I'll PM them if you're interested, assuming I can find them.

Oh my!... I would have missed his horny phase anyway as I'm not goth and I'm a massive prude ๐Ÿคฃ

But it will fun to see him in his youth! If you find the photos feel free to send them! ๐Ÿ˜บ

This one is in my Severus playlist - a perfect set of lyrics and I love the vibe of the song.

Oh my gosh, I literally had this song on loop the day I first watched Deathly Hallows Part 2!

Kinda on the nose but "It's Over, Isn't It" from Steven Universe reminds me of Snape. You know, the whole I was in love with someone who married my enemy and before her death had a child I have to look after...thing. Plus, both Rose and Lily are named after flowers!

I also really like the second half of Panic! At the Disco's "House of Memories," it seems to suit him. The whole memory theme is pretty fitting, too.

Anyway, I'm considering compiling all these songs into a Spotify playlist. I need to contain all this Snape energy lol

I love this song, this one has kinda become anthem for Unrequited love and fits Snape quite well. Channa Mereya means 'light of my soul'.

Lyrics:

okay, I'll leave now.
remember me in your prayers,
keep the taste of my mention
on your tongue...

keep my good deeds
in the boxes of the heart,
and keep my greetings
even in letters and telegrams.

I have taken your darkness,
and my bright shining star is yours now.
O my moon,
O my, my moon,
O my boleved moon..
O beloved.

if I am not there in your gathering,
there is no sadness,
there is no sadness..
stories of ours, of our closenesses,
aren't less,
they are plenty.
so many times I have turned
my mornings into evenings sitting in your courtyard.
[that is I have so many times passed my time there.]

I am turning my path from your direction,
I am sandal, leaving my fragrance (with you)...
leaving my heart's desires under your pillow,
this ascetic wraps the cotton cloth of an ascetic and leaves..

So I had nostalgia hit me for tonight. I don't know if anyone else has ever listened to them before, but there was this music group called Ministry of Magic that would make songs about the Harry Potter series.

This is one of the songs they made about Snape and I thought I should share it here. It's "The Bravest Man I ever Knew" by Ministry of Magic.ย

I usually listen to video game music when reading fanfics. Nothing to do with H.P universe either. Sometimes it's synthwave, other times metal etc. But mostly, without vocals.

After watching The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the song at the end of the film: Can't Catch Me Now by Olivia Rodrigo gave me such Snily vibes.

To me it's at first the fear of losing Lily and realizing he's done wrong. Then it turns into the grief of losing Lily that's constantly nagging and haunting away at Severus, especially after October 1981, reminding him of the mistake he's made and to do better. This is all coming from Severus' head, but it's all told to him in Lily's voice.

The part the really sends it home for me is: "You'll see my face in every place, But you can't catch me now. Through wading grass, the months will pass, You'll feel it all around, I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere, But you can't catch me now" andย  "Yeah, sometimes the fire you founded, Don't burn the way you'd expect. Yeah, you thought that this was the end." Which to me just symbolizes Harry having her eyes, Snape's whole journey to protect him now and help him defeat Voldy.

The first verse of this song is the moment when Snape met Lily when he was young. You can feel Snape's feelings after the fight with the Marauders and the lake incident.

Verse 2 Death Eaters

Verse 3 His life after Lily's death end reminds me of the Deathly Hallows.

The cry he wished his heart didn't have and the voice he heard when he passionately sang about light and shadow were Snape's life itself.

@cometise That's beautiful! Do you have an English translation for the lyrics?
