What Songs Remind You of Severus Snape and/or His Relationships?

My song would be 'All I Need' by Within Temptation. It is from Lily's side in a Snily when she starts falling for Severus.

@thegestaltprince, this one fits so well in that scenario.

I adjusted the thread title to include songs that remind us of Snape in general as well. There are so many of them for me, whether they're specific to a story I'm writing, or songs I return to again and again. Music is such a core part of my fandom experience… I also love being introduced to cool music I've never heard through other people's associations with Snape.

Side note: you can embed YouTube videos into your posts. You just have to add the link first (before you type anything) for it to show up. Hold on and I'll demonstrate…

This reminds me of Snape and his parents.

This is such a Snape song, specifically in terms of isolation/burying his emotions. I especially love listening to it in a context where he's gradually letting his walls down and allowing himself to be loved… this song is absolutely perfect for that scenario.

LYRICS:

I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready, I am ready, I am ready
I am taffy stuck and tongue tied
Stutter shook and uptight
Pull me out from inside
I am ready, I am ready, I am ready
I am fine
I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded and unfolded and unfolding
I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready, I am ready, I am ready
I am fine
I am fine
I am fine

For it to work, just paste the link into your post rather than using the link button on the editor. Went ahead and fixed yours, @thegestaltprince. 💚

This one I feel represents Snape's feelings after the severance of his friendship with Lily.

LYRICS :

Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are

I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart

Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh, let's go back to the start

Running in circles
Coming up tails
Heads on a science apart

Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard

Oh, take me back to the start

I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart

Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart

Tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
Oh, and I rush to the start

Running in circles
Chasing our tails
Coming back as we are

Nobody said it was easy
Oh, it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard

I'm going back to the start

Oh
Oh
Oh
Oh

“Despair,” takes you on a musical journey that’s filled with sadness, hope, and adventure. My favorite characteristic of orchestral music is how well it can tell a story without needing any vocals and I believe this one captures the feel of Snape's despair quite well after the Lily's death.
