Possible explanation: Irma Pince is anagram for I am Prince.

Why she is disguised?: It is theorised that Snape got Eileen away from his father and got her a job under Dumbledore to make her financially independent and being able to keep an eye on her.

I remember that theory before the fourth book came out. I personally don't think that she is Snape's mother, but I am not saying others shouldn't.

I remember there was or it was just us fans thinking that some things were clues and they were not. I remember telling myself that once the 7th book came out that only the books were my canon.  I didn't add the movies, interviews, Pottermore, or other sources. Granted if something peaks my imagination and helps fill in the blanks for me I will go with that.

I heard a theory about this and it is the one I keep for my headcaon. Severus dress himself like a wizard. The shirt was probably an older Wizarderding shirt from some a relative. Grandpa Prince?  I also am thinking of Ron's dress robes. He was wearing an ovesize coat which he used as a cape. It was summer and he didn't need a coat. As for pants. Sometimes lower income families ,back in those days, couldn't afford to buy pants right away after growth spurts even if they did buy the pants extra baggie in the first place. Seeing children in short pants wasn't uncommon then.

That is what I used to believe before book 7, which shows they called him that right away when Lily and him left the train compartment.

I don't believe Tobias physically beat Severus or Eileen.  I think the memory we see is Tobias and Eileen having a fight about Severus.  I always imagine that Tobias took Severus to the barber and he didn't want his hair cut. The result would be that  Severus would do accidental magic and it would grow.  I get this because of his badly cut hair and also when Harry was getting his hair cut he would make it grow with accidental magic. I think Seveus got himself in many situations were muggls would see him do his accidental magic and Tobias didn't like it.

I also think that the main reason that Snape became a Death Eater is by being recruited and not just joining.  I know that JKR said something like  he joined so Lily would see that he could be part of something bigger. Which seems wacky to me, since Lily got angry with him for hanging around with students who talked about joining the DE. I also wonder how he was supposed to stop hanging around these people. Didn't some of them share a room with him, such as, Harry, Ron, Dean, Neveille and Seamus.  Sharing a room for 7 years together I think that there would be some hanging around with each other.
