I love how you point this out. I wonder as well if a part of Sirius wanted to be accepted by his family as the perfect pureblood son, and was jealous/envious that (a half blood!) Snape managed to be what Sirius's parents wanted so naturally; into the Dark Arts, Slytherin, ect. It would make sense if he had both feelings inside of him (pure hatred as well as jealously), which could partly explain his volatility.

I find all of you much more tolerable after reading your thoughts on James Potter. Your criticisms are fair, well reasoned, and completely unbiased.

Also, James Potter was the scum of the earth. That is my equally unbiased opinion.
