Ok, got something for you @thegestaltprince, by yours truly ChatGPT. 😹😹

In a hilariously absurd turn of events, Severus Snape, Lily Evans, and the enigmatic Giant Squid found themselves entangled in a most unconventional love triangle. It all began one fateful day at Hogwarts, when Snape accidentally stumbled upon a secret passage that led him to the depths of the Black Lake.

To his surprise, Snape discovered Lily and the Giant Squid engaged in what could only be described as a bizarre courtship ritual. The Giant Squid, known for its tentacles and watery domain, seemed to have developed an inexplicable infatuation with Lily, while Lily, in all her Gryffindor courage, seemed rather unfazed by the peculiar situation.

Snape, unable to resist the comedic absurdity of it all, found himself torn between laughter and confusion. He couldn't comprehend how his unrequited love for Lily had taken such an unexpected turn, involving a marine creature of colossal proportions.

As the days went by, Snape became an unwitting observer of Lily and the Giant Squid's antics. He watched with a mix of bewilderment and amusement as the Giant Squid showered Lily with peculiar gifts, such as seaweed bouquets and shiny trinkets retrieved from the lake's depths.

Despite Snape's initial shock, a mischievous idea took hold of him. Determined to win Lily's affection, he embarked on a quest to outdo the Giant Squid and prove that he was the more suitable and entertaining suitor.

Severus Snape, armed with his cunning intellect and a flair for dramatics, devised a plan to woo Lily with his knowledge of potions and his unique brand of humor. He concocted a love potion that was meant to rival the Giant Squid's affectionate gestures, but with a touch of Snape's characteristic wit.

The moment of truth arrived when Snape presented his love potion to Lily, expecting it to elicit a delighted response. However, the unpredictable nature of crack stories took hold, and the potion had a wildly unexpected effect. Instead of falling for Snape, Lily and the Giant Squid found themselves irresistibly drawn to one another.

The resulting chaos was nothing short of absurd. Snape watched, dumbfounded, as Lily and the Giant Squid embarked on an underwater adventure, leaving him in a cloud of watery confusion.

In the end, Snape was left with nothing but a hilariously failed attempt at love and an unforgettable story to recount. He eventually found solace in the absurdity of it all, realizing that some things are simply not meant to be, no matter how ludicrously entertaining they may seem.

... imagine being outdone by a squid because of something you do. Snape needs a drink

So, I got inspired a week ago to write this. And I'm just now getting around to posting it. XD It was originally going to be a bit crazier than it is, but I now have something to contribute for the Squily Thread!

It's mostly from Lily's POV, dealing with everything directly after SWM. It's a small ficlet of 631 words. Enjoy!

Squids Over Boys

Summary: “I wouldn't go out with you (James) if it was a choice between you and the giant squid,” said Lily.”

So she chose the Squid.

Besides, one can always enjoy fresh calamari if the relationship doesn't work out. Fresh calamari rings dipped in eggs, then coated with nicely seasoned flour. Deep fry until golden brown and enjoy with any dip you prefer. I wonder if the magical squid would taste better than regular squid.

This sounds like something Severus would think if Lily did choose the Squid... XD

I'm cackling and getting ideas again.

By all means, do go ahead with your ideas. Would love to read it. And you know what? What if there's a Severus/Squid/Lily romance. The giant squid is one smooth sucker and could probably make it work. Would make for a very interesting polyamorous pairing.
