Page 1 of 2Next

We all fell in love with character of Snape at some point in the books or movies.

What was the moment when you felt, "oh I fucking love this man and he is my favourite?"

The Prince's Tale, without question

For me, since my first reading. I liked his character, I didn't love or hate him in the beginning though I thought of him as a villain. Then came Prince's Tale and my opinion was completely flipped.

In my second reading, I tried to understand things outside Harry's POV and loved him since first potions lesson. Some part of me understands his teaching problems being a teacher myself since this year.

“You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion-making. As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses. . . I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death — if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach.”

I actually fell for Alan Rickman's Snape in the movies because I watched them before reading the books. The moment I fell for him was the moment I saw him, I just can't explain it. Now I love book! Severus Snape more but Alan's version has led to me loving him in first place.

"The Prince's Tale" completely for me.

At first I wasn't sure how to see Snape. Of course it seemed like he was coming off as a bad guy, but then I got to the "The Prince's Tale" and I just remember sobbing.

But I think it was also because I can see a little of myself in Snape. He's a character I can relate with and ever since then, he's been one of my favorite's that is dear and close to my heart. <3

All I had when I got a thing for him were the first 3 books lol, waiting for the Spanish release of GoF so gave the books some re-reads and I was always like "This fucking mean ugly man, what's up with him?" And the more I complain about something the more I like it and... Yeah... I remember doing an RP with my bestie at school (we literally were using a notebook for that pfft) and she was Severus and indulged on my crush for him and made us a thing... It was special for me back then ;v;

Now I make myself cry (real tears) till I fall asleep because my catastrophic mind doesn't let me imagine something happy with him (I self-ship and for some reason I can't put aside the HP canon so... It hurts ;n; )

I can't really recall, because some of his biggest scenes made me love him more and more each time.

I was captivated by his introduction to Potions, but I had so much more admiration for him at the end of GoF when he revealed his Mark to the Minister and agreed to re-join Voldemort on Dumbledore's orders.He did so without question, so matter how absolutely terrified he was.

But I feel deeper in love with the Prince's Tale because that's when we finally received all pieces to his complicated puzzle, and now we finally have that story retold from Severus' POV and the true extent of his sacrifice.

So there was never 'one' moment for me...There were so many which reminded me of why I loved him.

I felt attracted to him ever since his appearance in the books even though I was a young girl of 11. I felt there was something more to that mysterious and obscure potions master.
I think I completely fell in love with him in GOF, when he shows his courage in front of everyone by showing the Dark Mark without hesitation to the minister🥰🥰 it was the final blow ❤️❤️
