How old is the Severus Snape living in your mind?
If by some chance someone were to casually bring up Severus Snape, how old would you instinctually see him in your mind’s eye?
Alan Rickman has managed to sear himself into my mind when it comes to Severus Snape but I do tend to imagine a younger version of him
His supposed age i.e in his thirties, I can't imagine him middle aged like Rickman Snape because I read books first and made a mind picture of him before being introduced to Movie Snape though he has undergone a lot of revisions and I like to imagine him in Rickman Snape outfit with a few book Snape adjustments from official illustration of Severus Snape by Kim Jay.
I always see him in his mid-twenties. Broken yet still full of life and not beaten down by the responsibilities in the Second War.
Mostly in his 30s, though if I'm really hooked up in a fic, he becomes whatever age he is in that fic until further notice

I also picture him in his 30s unless I'm writing/reading a version of him that is older or younger. Basically, the Severus in my head is a mirror image of my own artwork.
As in the books ❤️ an age group of 31 to 38 years old ❤️🥰
Definitely mid 30-40s for me, especially since I'm currently writing a post-war version of him. So, he is currently 44 in my story.
I think this is largely due to my favourite book being Order of the Phoenix, Severus is perpetually 35 or so in my head.

Ugh I really don't like this illustration of Snape it always made me think of it was from the mind of Harrys pov of how Snape looked to him I've always wondered since Snape was based on John Nettleship. JK Rowling's teacher who for one doesn't look ugly or greasy in anyway.
I really don't know what JK was smoking but it wasn't the good stuff. I try to find illustrations that almost mirror Nettleship as Snape like this.
