SWM because we see his younger self being tortured, sexually assaulted and humiliated in a crowd with James being the instigator and aggressor. That broke my heart.
Otherwise, there's not another Severus scene that I dislike, even despite many people blowing the seemingly 'worst' ones out of proportion.

I agree with @sanctuaryangel. It was called Snape's Worst Memory for a reason. He was publicly humiliated and lost his best friend at the same time, and that memory really scarred him far beyond the imagination. This scene becomes even worse when we understand the true story of Severus, and I often lose it when marauder fen justify this cruel attack as a crusade for justice.

Quote from FIQ on July 2, 2023, 12:37 pmMy least favorite canon moment by a wide margin is everything surrounding The Prank. We don't see much of the "prank" itself, but we do see a scene in the aftermath between Severus and Lily. I always considered the entire debacle to be supremely unfair on Severus, because not only is Lily taking the side of the Marauders, but he *can't do anything about it*. He has been through something horrible and forced into silence for it. The entire thing is awful.

Quote from Naaga on July 2, 2023, 2:18 pmMy least favorite scene would be Snape's death, it was very cruel and sad moment where Snape wasn't allowed to fight back. He either deserved a warrior's death or no death.

Eh. Good question.
I would have to say his first DADA lesson, but my heart says his very first Potions lesson when my little girl heart started pounding for him 🥰

For me, it would have to be the Occlumency lessons - we were able to see a side of Severus we don't see in the public eye.
He was the first person in OotP to explain to Harry the possible connections between Voldemort and his mind, and what that might mean. No one else was able to do this.
We also got an insight into Severus' past due to Harry's intrusion - things so deeply personal and heartbreaking.
We were able to see Severus praise Harry in his own snarky way.
And we were able to see a little bit of Severus' emotional, traumatised side as well.
These lessons were so revealing for his character, and I wish they were shown properly in the films. This was probably the only instance where Harry and Severus were somewhat civil to each other and actually spoke in decent conversations.

I would have to say his first DADA lesson, but my heart says his very first Potions lesson when my little girl heart started pounding for him 🥰I agree with this. I loved his introductory speech, his treatment of Harry less so.
And him teaching DADA was gold.
‘‘Let us ask Potter how we would tell the difference between an Inferius and a ghost.’
The whole class looked round at Harry, who hastily tried to recall what Dumbledore had told him the night that they had gone to visit Slughorn. ‘Er – well – ghosts are transparent –’ he said.
‘Oh, very good,’ interrupted Snape, his lip curling. ‘Yes, it is easy to see that nearly six years of magical education have not been wasted on you, Potter. Ghosts are transparent.”

Severus's first Potions class. I loved his character as soon as I heard his Potions introduction speech.
‘You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion-making,’ he began. He spoke in barely more than a whisper, but they caught every word – like Professor McGonagall, Snape had the gift of keeping a class silent without effort. ‘As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don’t expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses … I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death – if you aren’t as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach.’
