Poll: Least Favourite Snape Pairings?

Okay, someone needs to write a drabble where Snape does this. Yes, I understand that it would be terribly out of character, but there are plenty of ways around that. Maybe he inadvertently ingests his own love potion and spends the entire day head over heels for himself? Please, for the love of god, someone make this happen!

Quote from Araziela Prince on June 19, 2024, 6:35 pmI really despice any pairings with his bullies, the Marauders, Or Dumbledore (the idiot that didn't stop the bullying and didn't do anything, even with the murder attempt on Sev in 5th year). There are also others that I don't like (for example: Snamione), but this dislike is more mild.

Quote from FIQ on June 20, 2024, 7:29 amQuote from Heatherlly on August 22, 2023, 1:13 amAgreed. While I do enjoy same sex pairings with other characters, I have to be able to see some foundation for it. With Severus, it just isn't there… he's one of the most obviously heterosexual characters I've ever encountered.
Really? I am curious now, what makes someone "obviously heterosexual"? I almost never feel this about a character, so I wonder what of him makes you feel this way.
Not that I ship him with males myself, but that's more down to me not reading slash in general in the HP fandom.

Quote from Heatherlly on June 21, 2024, 12:20 am@fredriq When I say "obviously heterosexual", I'm referring to how he interacts with other male characters versus female characters. Even setting aside the biggest piece of evidence (his love for Lily), I found the scene between him and Narcissa very telling. Whether or not you believe there was sexual tension between them, it seems clear (at least to me) that women have an effect on him that just isn't present in his interactions with men.
That said, I have no issue with others interpreting him as gay or bi. I just don't see any evidence for it from a canonical standpoint.

Interesting! I am curious to know which scene you are referring to. I am unable to recall it at the moment, haha. I personally have never noticed a "difference" between his treatment of men and women, but I also never really paid attention to it. Like you, I always envisioned him to be heterosexual (and like you, I have no problem with people who think differently).

Quote from Heatherlly on June 21, 2024, 8:13 pmSorry for not clarifying. I was talking about the Spinner's End chapter in HBP where he takes the Unbreakable Vow.
If you're interested, there's some great analysis of that scene in this thread.
I know there's at least one other thread where the interactions between him and Narcissa are discussed in depth, though I can't remember which one it was. @naaga, do you remember? We were discussing the sexual tension (or lack thereof) between the two of them.

It was from Snape Headcanons thread. 😸
Your interpretation is right here.

Ahh, OK. I had a suspicion that it was that scene, but my oblivious butt sometimes misses things like this (ie women having an effect on him displayed in that scene). Thank you for clarifying though! <3
